AECP | Beautiful Details

10/28/202510/28/2025 Janine 2 comments

The Beautiful Details class for Level 2 of Altenew Educator Certification Program (AECP) was probably the hardest so far. I have no experience with pencils or no-line coloring so I used my own techniques to transfer the lesson on my own card.

All products used are listed at the end of this post.

I first stamped the flower stamps and leaves from the Craft Your Life Project Kit: Translucent Foliage with gold embossing powder onto vellum. Because you always want to ink up the back side of your vellum, I flipped it over to start adding Lavender Fields and Puffy Heart to the flowers and Grass Field and Shadow Creek to the leaves. When vellum gets we it tends to curl up so I had to lay it flat with some weight on top to straighten it.

My card base is 4 1/4″ by 5 1/2″ and I cut my background 1/4″ smaller and adhered it to the card base. I then cut out a 2″ square and ran it through my die cut machine using the embossing folder from the Craft Your Life Project Kit: Arched Foliage. For the sentiment I used a stamp from the Craft Your Life Project Kit: Translucent Foliage with Obsidian Pigment Ink.

When adhering vellum you always have the problem that any glue will be seen through the vellum whether it’s liquid glue or double-sided tape. For vellum I like to use Micro Dot Sheets like the one from Simon Says Stamp.
