Today I am sharing a layout with you that I created for the March/April issue of the The Simple Scrapper. For this layout we had to choose from a range of templates and boy that was a challenge itself. I had just gotten the Aurora Blooms die set from Simon Says Stamps and really wanted to play with them. The template included a floral border so it was just perfect.
I first chose a blue card stock from my stash for the background and added some gold paste with a dotted stencil. You can hardly see it on the final layout but it’s there. I then grabbed some white card stock and die cut the Aurora Blooms. I used my Simon Says Stamp Saturated Inks to ink blend on the flowers. Ink blending is so relaxing. I like to watch YouTube while I’m doing it. For a little bit of dimension I added gold splatter on top of the flowers. So fun. Last but no least I added centers to my flowers.
For the photo I used one of my favorite pictures of my son from our Amsterdam – Hamburg trip in October 2022. This photo was taken in Hamburg when we visited the Miniatur Wunderland and took a boat trip through the port of Hamburg.
With al the flowers I was afraid that my layout would turn out to be too girlish but I think the blue colors helped to prevent that!
