When I started with Day 4 I realized that I had to fill the tree on the back of Day 3. Really? What was I thinking? I took a picture of our house in the evening to show the lights we have in front of our house and a bit of light from the windows. The picture came out blurry and I didn’t really like it but it was all I had. I changed the picture to black and white and went with it.
I added one of the Glitter Die Cut Phrases from the December Daily® Main Kit. On top I added a slit with my craft ḱnife. That’s where I hid my journaling on one of the journal cards from the kit. I added a tab from a previous kit so you are able to pull out the card.
For the tree I used a paper from the main kit and put pieces of vellum between two tree pieces. Finally I added the big cork number and a red word phrase sticker. In addition, I decorated the tree with gold sequins.
Day 5 tells the story of my son’s wishlist for Santa. It really is a funny story. It all started with a single page with two toys and evolved into an art project. My son kept cutting out things from magazines and even asked me to print out some things for him. So there was a lot of cutting and glueing down things going on. He added more and more pages to his wishlist and it got bigger and bigger.
To document the story I used one of the pockets with a journal card. I put it down with the brad so you can move it, to see the full picture. I added my journaling on the computer and then printed it directly onto the card. At the top I added another brad with some twine. I also stitched one of the Canvas Word Strips at the top. The chipboard number 5 is from one of my own kits and I simply embossed it with black embossing powder.
So far a lot of the stories in my December Daily® album are funny ones.
