This is my last card for Level 2 of Altenew Educator Certification Program (AECP). I have to admit that I did struggle a little bit but I think I found a pretty good solution for my “problem”. I decided to do the lesson of Positive And Negative Masking on my card. I was struggling because I used a stencil where the images were further apart. Using a stencil with a big image like a flower or a pattern is definitely a better choice but I really wanted to use the Sugar Rush stencils and I made it work.
All products used are listed at the end of this post.

I first masked the word happy with the Bold Alphabet dies and then started ink blending using the Sugar Rush stencils. i used a whole bunch of different inks and they are all listed below for your reference. When I took off the masking paper the word happy was almost invisible. So I had to find a way to make it visible.

I grabbed the Bold Alphabet again and did some dry embossing. I think this really helped making my word visible. For a little bit of pop I used a sentiment from the Solid Sentiment Strips Press Plate inked with Obsidian Pigment Ink. I do not have the matching die ( because it’s always sold out ;)) so I used a sentiments strip die from my stash and cut out the sentiment. It was slightly larger so I used a black alcohol marker to color in the white space as well as the edges. Love the final look!
