And we’re back with the fifth class for the Altenew Educator Certification Program (AECP) focusing on cards For The Guys.
I guess when making cards for boys or men I tend to go with colors like blue and green. In the class one lesson focused on what I have in my stash a lot and don’t use regularly: stencils. I also have some of the Shimmer Relief Pastes and don’t use them as often as I should. But for this card I went into my stencil stash and grabbed the Dotted Pattern Background stencil. For the Shimmer Relief Pastes I chose Smoky Quartz, Burnished Platinum and Pearl.
All products used are listed at the end of this post.

I started with the darkest color on the outside (Smoky Quartz) and used the lightest color (Pearl) on the inside, so that I would create a focal point for my sentiment. I also added a thin layer of Smoky Quartz on cardstock and let it dry over night. Then I used the have a good day die from the Timeless Sentiments 2 and cut out the dried layer of the paste. I stacked two more layers of cardstock and added a piece of vellum from the shadow die.

I think stencils are a great way to make cards for the guys, using pastes or inks always gives a nice effect.
