The second class I chose for Level 3 of the Altenew Educator Certification Program (AECP) program, was Cards in Motion, which focused on interactive cards. I was mostly intrigued by the final lesson of the class, which combined two interactive elements: a shaker and a spinner element.
All products used are listed at the end of this post.

I started by creating by card base from a 8 1/2 x 11″ sheet of cardstock. I cut it down to 5 1/2 x 10 3/4″ and scored at 2 1/2″ flipped it over and scored at 4 1/4. With a circle die I cut out a half circle from the top flap of the card base and then aligned that die on the flap below to cut out a full circle.

I wanted some more texture on the card front so I embossed a piece of cardstock with the Geo Diamonds 3D embossing folder, cut it in half and adhered it to the top flap and the right side of the bottom flap. I cut out the circle before I ran it through my die cut machine with the embossing folder. If you would do that after it would ruin the embossing on your cardstock.

For the shaker element, I used frame circle dies from my stash as well as two pieces of acetate and some shaker bits and pieces in green and white. I stacked about four circle frames with acetate from each side for maximum space to add the shaker bits.
For the spinner element, I used a smaller circle die to cut two circles from white cardstock. I stamped the adore you sentiment from the Captivating Floral Swag bundle with Obsidian Pigment Ink onto the two circles and then inked them with Firefly and Grass Field from the Green Valley Fresh Die Ink set.
With a piece of string I added my spinner element to the second flap. I adhered the two cardstock pieces together with the pice of string right in the center.
