The New Year did not start out well for my family. My Oma, who celebrated her 90th birthday on December 25th, had a stroke on New Year’s Day. Almost all of her 5 children, 12 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren and many more rushed to the hospital to say goodbye to her. She was finally reunited with my Opa, who passed away 9 years ago, on Tuesday, January 7th. I know she had a good life and was blessed with a long and fulfilled one. Still I still can not process that there is no Oma anymore. She was my childhood where I spent all my summer holidays together with my cousins. She will be missed every single day.
So for days I couldn’t make anything in my craft room. However, I am at peace now and got a little creative for therapy.
The new products from Altenew, which hit my shop this week, were definitely helping to get started. My birthday is coming up at the end of February and I needed some invitations. I decided to go with postcard style invitations.
You can watch the process in this reel here: JaninesPapierstudio
I used my favorite ink colors with the stencils and worked in batches. I created one additional backgroud which I then cut out with the matching die. I then decorated my background with the Party die, a sentiment which I created on my computer and printed out, and the pieces from the die cut background.
I printed my text on cardstock and added that to the back of my card panel. I love how it looks with the rounded corners. So fun!
