DLS Design | Kindness | Embossed Hearts

Sometimes going out of your comfort zone and using products you have been hoarding is just the thing to do. I had planned to put this layout in my 3×8 album outside of the page protector but eventually cut it down to fit into one.

For this layout I used the stamp set and the enamel dots from the Kindness kit by DLS Design. You can watch the process video in the Free Layer section of the DLS Community.

I started by using my anti-static pouch on my paper. This helps to keep your embossing powder in place and where it is supposed to be. Then I added my stamping with VersaMark. Stamping on white is pretty hard, so make sure you have good lighting. Finally, I used very fine white embossing powder from WOW! and the hearts came to life.

I chose three Distress Oxide colors: Kitsch Flamingo, Worn Lipstick and Lumberjack Plaid. I then added the ink with a blending brush. I have not done this a lot so I am no expert at all. After I was finished, I wiped the ink from the embossed hearts, to make them look all white again. I also realized that even though I used three different colors you can’t really tell. Maybe the colors were too close together. But who cares anyway, right!

To finish off my layout I printed a black and white photo three times and played with another stamp from the set to which I added the date, a short journaling and staples. Three enamel dots completed my tiny layout. I love it!
