This is probably the first time where the photos were made especially for this layout. I wanted to use up the acetate paper and create chipboard-like frames with the paper from the Heartwarming kit. I also might be a little bit addicted to making my own alphas from dies and foam. The foam I used for YOU & ME didn’t have an adhesive back so I had to add a double-sided adhesive sheet first. Nonetheless, I love it!!! I will never ever run out of vowels again.
For the frames I simply used two square dies and secured them with washi tape to have the same width for all five frames. My first idea – two 200g papers underneath the patterned paper – did not work out. It was simply too thick. I wanted to get a three layers though my die cutting machine. I could have cut out each layer individually and then adhere them back together but I wanted to use my die cutting machine only once for each frame. So a less thicker frame it is now!
Once I had my layout set up, I called my son for a round of selfies with all kinds of silly faces.
The final layout is 12″ tall and about 6″ wide, so this had to go into our 12×12 family album. Have you ever used acetate as a background paper?
