For this first project using DLS Design‘s November Kit Heartwarming I was inspired by the cover of the 12×12 paper set. I wanted to scrap this photo of my son and I wearing masks in my 3×8 album. I am not using page protectors in my album so the actual size of my layout is 4×8.5.
Since I’m not so good at measuring, I created the layout in photoshop and then measured the size of my squares. This way I was also able to print my photo in the same size as the squares. I printed a color and a b/w version of my photo and ended up using the b/w version on my layout.
I then choose different papers from the paper set and cut them to size. This is also a great way to use your scraps. I then adhered everything down. Before stitching everything with my sewing machine, I had to move the photo to the left side of the layout as I realized I would probably punch a hole through the photo when adding it to my album.
Before adding the layout to my album I added a few embellishments. You can watch the REEL with a little process video on the DLS Design Instagram account.
